Anyone actually watched the interview, or has an accurate synopsis of it?
I haven't, but it sounds, unsurprisingly, little more than a Putin puff piece. Is that the case, or am I being naïve?
Was just about to post about this too.
Seems that nord stream 1 has been deliberately damaged, or at least that's what we are led to believe, reports of explosion (or similar), now a leaking pipe.
Something weird going on here...
I don't understand the situation, but I read something that Germany have paid in Euros, but to a special Gazprom bank account type that can exchange to Roubles. Presumably the standard/original payment method of Euros isn't into an account that allows exchange due to sanctions.
Edit: But...
I don't know how you deal with this kind of situation most effectively, but I don't think brushing it under the carpet is for the best and, IMO, some form of public acknowledgement would be a good idea.
I tend to agree and I note that the book linked to above (Foundations of Geopolitics), published in 1997, says this re. the US.

Having not read the book, I don't know how much of an abridged synopsis this is though...
You may or may not be a Putin fanboy, but you're falling for his propaganda.
You could paint a similar picture of the UK or the US if you wished.
Also, just saw this when looking:

Which I thought was interesting.
If that's true, it's not particularly slanderous is it?
And if it is true, this is the type of knowledge and truth that should be public, however much it might hurt some.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Jinping throws Putin under the bus. I suspect China was 'happy' with Russia's intent before the invasion (as long as it was delayed post Olympics...), not so much now.
On the timing I think this has been in the pipeline for years, he has been lining up the cards as much as possible IMO. I wonder if the pandemic affected anything, that effectively comes to an end and a couple of months later he's invaded.
You could be right he may not be mad or evil, but that still doesn't answer why he is doing it, or why he is doing it now.
It's always good to at least play devil's advocate and consider differing opinions/stances it means you can be more confident it what you think, or conversely the opposite...
