Ooh I like a bit of Wilbur, will add to my fathers day list :)

One of his best, if you don't mind a bit of misogyny

I'd also recommend his ancient Egypt novels, starting with River God. That is an absolute corker.

I've read those. As you say cracking reads. Good old Taita… and have to admit to fancying the princess..

"Margrave of the Marshes" by John Peel and family. A lovely, gentle, funny and quintessentially english book.

Brighton factually.....
Farters day present, just the last trip to finish, it has been enjoyable and I definitely can identify with being brought up at a young age in and around Brighton and moving away at a young age still holding the faith and flame for the albion, despite the distance, the more away games up north etc etc...

very pleasant read.

Just reading the Peter Crouch book, How To Be A Footballer, and it is huge fun! He has a really enjoyable writing style, and doesn't hold back on taking the mickey out of what is becoming a bit of a who's who of footballers. Potentially a very good holiday read, for when we can go away on hols again.

Moved onto the Crouch book having just finished the new Peter James/Roy Grace book (I got an early copy)...

Glad to hear that - I sent my Dad a copy for Father's Day so hope he enjoys it.

Looks interesting, will give it a go.

Probably mentioned elsewhere but Thirteen (Steve Cavanagh) is excellent

If you don't know Linwood Barclay, I would recommend them all, but especially No Time To Say Goodbye, or Tap On The Window.
