Memories of Ice - Steven Erikson, third book of the Malazan Empire series. Really enjoying this series, love the world building and in depth politicking at god levels. Only another 7 books to go 😁

Re-reading the Middle East chapter of Tim Marshall’s’ excellent “Prisoners Of Geography” to better understand the awful events unfolding in that area.
Read that last year, excellent book

Behind My Eyes
The Informer by Brett Easton Ellis, borrowed from library.
Doubt I'll bother to finish it .... total garbage.
Every chapter is in first person, detailing an episode in their life. Every chapter is a different person, but there's a link connecting them all. The writing style is terrible and the characters have no individual personalities, they all sound the same. Maybe this is deliberate, but I think it's crap.

The Romantic by William Boyd, I've enjoyed some of his other novels but this one I find very hard work. I've given up on Hide and Seek by James Patterson but it does have some football content which makes Roy of the Rovers seem realistic.
Should finish The Romantic tomorrow and personally thought it was one of his finest, right up there with Any Human Heart
