Two things: why is the whole Balmoral charade a thing? Why does 'Boris' need to go there to resign?

Also, this price cap on fuel – why wasn't it done WEEKS ago? Even if a temporary measure before the new regime came in?

Because it allows the new Prime Minister to claim they “sorted out” the energy crisis, bit like Carvalho scoring the ninth against Bournemouth and claiming he won the game!

How many aircraft does it take to transport two prime ministers from Downing Street to Scotland and back to visit the same queen?

Energy crisis, what energy crisis?

Could have asked Charles to do it at Buck House and saved on using a plane at all. It's only ceremonial meaningless bollocks anyway

If the Queen's not fit to travel she shouldn't even be involved imo

I never realised how long Boris’ arms were.

Jonathan Liew writes in today's Guardian that Truss told a Leeds hustings in August that she wanted to channel the spirit of Don Revie, someone she wasn't just mentioning to play to the crowd, but would obviously remember very well having been born a year after he'd left Leeds and a couple of years before he junked the England job for a big UEA payout having failed to qualify for the 1976 Euros and, despite Ron Greenwood's best efforts, made qualification for Argentina 1978 a bridge too far.

So, expect national failure, alienation of any type of creativity and everyone being forced to play indoor bowls. Everything we do win will be won through cheating and our leader will run off to another country just as reports of their corruption start to appear in the press.

Months! This was being accurately predicted in March. People will still vote for these crooks.

The buffoon could have driven to Balmoral. After all, he's got lots of spare time on his hands now. Although, come to think of it, he's had that for the last three years.

well done, hope you tooks good profits on your predictions. only the cap was predictable because it was just that, a limit on the price increase, and was announced to schedule. we're awaiting package for how to manage the future pricing (and hopefully roll back the October cap) now we have new PM in place.

He could have gone by train and had a party on the way.

So, genuinely, you're happy that we had an inert government for the last few months while people were worrying and stressing over the future of their families and their businesses? It should have been addressed months ago but of course they were all focussed on themselves.

if we had active government for the past two months we'd have seen couple of announcments and u-turns. around now, with parliament back, we'd have the final version. anyway probably mixing up the price cap and the solution for how to manage current and onward price rises.

Truss has already performed a U-Turn - only thing is that no one realises it - she campaigned to win the Tory members votes on a tax cutting agenda, however before she's even been appointed as PM it's leaked she's about to give away more than double what was spent on furlough in the way of an energy price freeze......

But obviously not through pausing tax cuts, or applying a windfall tax on profits, but just by borrowing another 100 million that we'll all be paying off for generations
