Finally Gordon Ramseys Lucky Cat restaurant in the Dorchester London. Wasn’t really through choice but had a £100 Amex dining credit to spend and this was one of the only ones with availability that worked and in a handy location. Food was good - but very pricey (£20 for a big bowl of egg fried...

Oh also tried Permit Rooms in Brighton last week (same group as Dishoom) I’ll add we had a ratty 10 month old with us who wouldn’t sleep or settle, and despite it being 4pm in the afternoon was rowdy with Christmas parties. Food was good, everything is pretty well spiced which can be tricky...

Visit for lunch at The Pig today in the South Downs near Arundel. Been on our radar for a while - great food ethos of local food. All suppliers are listed and generally food sourced within 25 miles. Nibbles of house cured pork and home made pickled veg to start, as well as freshly baked...

Been in Barcelona a bit for work recently. Stand out meal was at Darvaza The bread with smoked butter, salt and pepper was unreal. Iberian Acorn ham was like nothing I’ve ever had. Steak tartare was amazing and shared a couple of bone in ribeye - the most incredible fat. Been thinking about...

Not a restaurant - but Baby Bao has a ‘sister’ place, Earls on Church Street - specialising in Bahn Mi. Absolutely fantastic for a sandwich. Good choice of options (meat and non meat) - their chocolate malted drink is nice as well

Worthing has always lacked food sushi option - but no longer. Sakura down Portland Road / Place is a quality little takeaway. All freshly made for you, excellent value. They also do Katsu curry and bento boxes but did try those just a mix of rolls

CinCin for a work lunch today. Their set menu lunch is excellent value - £18 for 2 courses, £24 for 3 courses. Arancino of Pork Ragu a highlight as was the buttermilk pannacotta. Drinks a bit pricy - £6.50 for a 330ml Unbarred Pale ale but wasn’t my money. Also enjoyed a nice beer in the...

Soft launch last night got great reviews that I saw - but of course it would do for a freebie / reduced price I guess

It’s decent. Sone standout dishes, some average. Chilli Pickle or Curry Leaf are probably a bit better - but it’d not stop me going to Mowgli Is Mowgli Street Food any good??

Tried Oregano the pizza place in Worthing earlier. Bit under the radar in my opinion. Pizzas are big, i can put a bit of food away but this was a lot. All being hand made at the front of the restaurant. Nice outside area. Found the menu pretty interesting topping wise, lots of different...

Went to Mowgli today in the former site of Oasis down Duke Street. Indian food in thali / small dish type style. Very modern, bunch of tables the seats are essentially swings. Small chain run by Nisha Katona who is on most BBC food programs at some point. It has just opened but was completely...

Expected to be a tough year for hospitality so will be interesting to see how it pans out and the industry adapts to entice diners. Was out in Brighton today and surprised by how many independent cafes & restaurants were shut for the day. A lot of trade being missed out on - Pizza Express &...
