    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

That's the levels of the clubs these days, isn't it? We finish on 48-51 points and we're all a bit dissapointed that our challenge for 2 consectutive European qualifications has tailed off. They finish on 49 points and it's their best ever PL season.

There's about as much chance of Olise staying this summer as there was of MacAllister staying with us last summer. In fact there's probably less as we'd just qualified for the Europa League and were in the process of accumulating a 100m profit for the season, even before Mac was sold.

So Conference is 6th this year? On that basis, Man U cannot realistically make Europe so should be resting players on Sunday.

For this to be an issue, Man U will have to beat Newcastle tonight. And even then the highest they could finish is 7th if Chelsea beat us, and I'm not sure the Conference League has quite the same motivation for them.

They can't force him to come to work, but they can prevent him from working elsewhere until his contract has expired. This is more or less what we did with Ashworth until Newcastle paid the compo. The downside being that the employer still has to keep paying a salary during gardening leave.

Not really. Any manager can decide to simply not turn up for work in the hope of being sacked,, but their club isn’t obliged to sack them. They can instead put them on gardening leave to prevent them from working elsewhere until either their contract ends or they receive an acceptable settlement.

That 30m from an extra 8K seats is a pie-in-the-sky estimate. Brighton had a total of £25m of matchday income in 22/23 from the entire 32K capacity Amex, which was near enough sold out for every home game.

I'd be amazed if someone doesn't trigger the 60m release clause for Olise this summer. His outstanding form in the last few weeks has been timed to perfection.

I don't think that's correct. I think we have in general paid better wages than Palace over the last couple of seasons. The reason that we have lost (sold) our better players is simple: there is much more demand from the mega-rich clubs for players that have contributed to finishing in the top...

The 125m figure in that article doesn’t sound right, even though it’s got El Pres’ name next to it. According to the figures they’ve published for the last 3 seasons 20-23, they lost 40m, 24m and 27m. That’s only 91m, over 3 seasons and 20-21 was a COVID season so they’d be able to claim around...

Fair play. 10-man Burnley at home is a tough proposition - just ask Chelsea .

I think there may well be a number of points deductions to help them though. There's only so many teams that'll be able to offload players before the end of June. Although it's not as if Palace can take much of an advantage of this fire sale; they lost 27.5m last season so don't have a massive...

Beginning of the PL era one of the podcasts (possibly the official one) had Paul Rogers on when he was still commercial manager. He was saying how much the ad boards generated per game in the PL compared to Championship, especially if against one of the big 6, and I was also genuinely...

Varies from game to game depending on the worldwide TV audience, but the income from those LED adverts behind the goals and opposite the cameras represent something in the region of 1m per game on average. I'm sure the Always Ultras would be happy to have a whip round to make up the shortfall...

They made about 30m over the first two seasons and made 5m in the season they sold Wan-Bissaka to Man U for 50m, but out of the other 6 seasons they've released figures for they lost in the region of 200m (of which about 95m was in the two Covid seasons). They've basically spent 165m to tread...

They lost about 90m across the 2 Covid seasons and the most recent accounts (21-22) showed a loss of 24m, so although it's not quite Chelsea levels of losses, it's not insignificant, especially with no on-field progression to show for it or signficant infrastructure spend in the background.

Also that 400m is the debt at the end of the 21-22 season. We’ve sold over 300m worth of players since then.

I remember this feeling well. First season staying up obviously felt like a big deal and worth celebrating almost as much as promotion itself. Got a bit weary of it halfway through season 3 though, and discussions amongst mates was very much a case of relegation wouldn't be a disaster from a...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

We should’ve won the game they beat us in as well after having 75% possession and 25 shots compared to their 3, and the game before that that ended 1-1 where their only touch in the box was the penalty following big Tazza Lamptey’s assault on Batshuayi.
