On a month’s petrol for my German SUV.

For a short while I costed it up, just to see. It was something like £600 per month using Lidl and special bits from Sainsbury's. Versus £750 just using the big supermarkets. I'd rather spend the £1,800 annually on nice things. And Aldi/Lidl food's really nice.

The savings from using Lidl or Aldi are still huge imho. I got lazy during the pandemic and used the likes of Sainsbury's, when our spend was £ 3-figures more per month than now. We do still buy a few fussy things from the others.
