So I kind of kept quiet about this to Gareth, Mike & Brett and I think only posted once on here about it but here goes... I was due to run Brighton marathon last year for REMF. I’d done the fundraising and was up to about £300. I’d done a fair bit of training and had just done Lydd 20 miler...

Shotblocks and lucozade seem to help. In fact even in halves water stations tend to really help me so that is a good thing :)

I’ve been told a 20 on your own is harder than 26 on the day with the crowds and other runners? But you say beware?! Yep, it’s def light but time and things I’ve had on as well as my niggly hammy have restricted me somewhat. Yeh I’m most certainly not running for a time - anything under 5...

    I think I’ve not done quite enough but should be enough to get round if I’ve done a 17 and a 20: From 2018: Jan - 6 runs - 28miles Feb - 7 runs 56 miles Mar - 3 runs 40 miles so far

    * Advice please * Doing Paris marathon a week Sunday. Did 17 at start of March and 20 a week later but had a definite hamstring injury so rested for just over 2 weeks and did a gentle 3 on Tues (not ideal preperation). I don’t think I’ve quite done enough training but just want to do the thing...

Got date wrong so now not doing it. Maybe one more long run and a few 6-10 milers to taper and see what I can squeeze in. Working full time and having a daughter makes training time tricky but 12.5 / 13 / 17 / 20 in the last 4 weeks have helped.

So I literally just finished my 20 miler to add to my 17 last weekend. 3hrs 40 - had to walk a few times at end up hills as hamstring hurt... I am a month from my marathon (Paris) - someone pls give me some confidence that with one more long run and several shorter ones and Hastings half that I...

Just as I was about to finish today (in BHA top) I got a 'well done... Up the palace!' From the sidelines - didn't even have the energy to raise the middle finger - that's how ****ed I was!

My 3 mates I ran with all walked some of it but all finished 5-10 mins ahead of me. I'm worried I won't be able to run 26 miles which is the sort of thing I'll hate - I want to try and run it all but just don't know if I will be able to. Loads of walkers for parts today - my pace was barely...

Did Lydd 20 today - what a soulless shite horrible hard run - never again. Pylon after pylon & a boring green marsh. Everyone in our group of 4 struggled. I managed to run it all but the last 3 miles were shocking and 12 mins - slow pace overall too. Cardiovascular was fine but muscles were...

Yes it probably was - I only set out do 12 but felt good. That was a while ago though. Been doing 10-13 for the last 3-4 weeks so need a couple of longer runs - Lydd 20 and then Hastings half next week and probably a 10 miler midweek - going to be hard but worth it :)

Yes it was mate - and I prob over-did it as went from 10 miles to 15 to 17.3 in a few weeks. Will take it nice and easy - have no interest in a time just want to coplete it - same as the marathon! Got shot-blox and sport jelly beans as well as high 5 tablets with water - will take on what I...

Lydd 20 tomorrow - 17.3 is the furthest I've ever ran and I hit a wall that day - hoping the fact there is other runners and it's an event will see me through - but nervous!

Yes I saw 11 and then thought 12 was taking its time - asked a bloke next to me who had a watch and he said we were on 12.1 - so never saw a 12 marker but some of my mates were saying it was wrong after. My mate messaged me this - I assumed he was taking the piss. So my 1-55 will not be valid...
