This is York Place. Seems to a publicity thing for Curry’s . Undated but I’d guess 1950s… You would never get me up on one of those!

A Victorian Seven Dials
This was in the 1930s . I read that a Copper stood in the middle to operate the stop/go signs

Bevendean Hospital.. I was in there for about a week sometime in the eighties. As I recall it was a funny old place with one or twe funny old nurses.!
Today in Bevendean Road , all that’s left are the gate posts and gate house

Nowadays it is Furniture Now.
The Odeon, Kemp Town.. St George’s Road … it suffered a bombing in WW2 and 52 people were killed one afternoon. I read that the bomber was being pursued and just ditched his load in a bid to escape. Sad story….
Today it is the site of the block of flats , Cavendish Court.
The Mechanic’s Arms that once stood at the corner of London Road and Oxford Street. I don’t know when it ceased but that has always been shops in my memory.
today……
Somebody might remember this, Th3 Cottage used record shop in Church Road . I regret that I did not know it but by accounts it was an institution in its day .
Nowadays it is an eatery.
