My local one is the Chevin - very much a hilly trail one. It's exactly 5k to the start across fields and tracks from home, so I often run there, do it and run home. Annoyingly my 7 year old currently has swimming lessons at 9.45 on a Saturday so haven't been able to do it lately, though hoping...

It was dreadful inside the stadium - almost dangerous! Virtually no loos, no signs, no stewards, to clue where to go for what! I climbed over a wall to go for a wee in the end! Hope it improves for next year. Are you based up this way then? (rather than St Leonards!) The trouble I have with...

I ran most of the way up the hill but that finished be off. The mile or two after that (false flat) were awful. The main problem with the heat was the fact that it hasn't been that warm for six months, so no training in it! I'm not currently keen to repeat it, but that could change! Looking to...

Yep first one for 20 years, and I think the previous ones have just been laps of the city centre. Would be good if it did go right into the city centre in future though (that said, this would make it even hillier!)

I'm guessing no-one else here was involved in the Leeds marathon yesterday? Being my first I obviously have nothing to compare with, but given the heat and the hills (407m ascent), and having a bit of a cold, I found it utterly gruelling. My time was 4:42:00 and I was originally hoping for...

Ah, we have one of these just across the road from us - https://skyrac.co.uk/ Assumed they would be very very serious! It's funny how they do CX and not running clubs isn't it? A lot of the running clubs round here do take kids though, and have kids fell runs etc. and you see them all in their...

This is another conundrum for me. Have been thinking about doing so myself but the ones local to me seem to be largely road-based and aimed at women of a certain age. Given that I'm primarily into trail/fell running this isn't ideal! There are loads slightly further afield that would be ideal...

Anyone else take their kids to junior parkrun. I take my 6 year old daughter perhaps every other week on average but she keeps absolutely eating into her PB. 10:46 today which seems great for her age? Though it's very hard to find anything to compare with, particularly as the age categories...

So... strength training - anyone got any advice? I've never done any, except for a few chin ups. Should I? Will I see the benefits? I ask as a set of 20kg dumbbells are currently on offer at Argos at £30 which seems a bit of a bargain.

Hi All - will be in Sussex for Easter weekend. Am planning on giving Uckfield Parkrun a whirl, but are there any other trail runs in Sussex I should be aware of, please?

Thank you for asking! It's been ok, and I've been doing the exercises, though I haven't done any very long runs as keep getting colds etc. Was fine for parkrun on Saturday though didn't break my record (very muddy and lots of dogs mind). A recent Runners World podcast suggested 1-leg squats are...

Definitely the inside! Weirdly my right knee on Wednesday and my left yesterday. Slightly concerned it's the 860s, which have otherwise been great. Just tried the above and its certainly the front of the thigh that is now sore. https://www.parkrun.org.uk/robertspark/parkrunner/5272718/ 60.54%...

knocky1 my 22:13 from the other week doesn't seem to have been recognised ;-) Any tips on knee pain, anyone, as I seem to keep getting it after about 10k recently, even though my mileage has been reduced slightly due to recent colds. Could be the cold weather? Though am wearing tights.

Have to admit I tend to focus on contours etc rather than compass unless I have to. Not sure if this is the right thing to do?

Went to the new local (flat) parkrun yesterday to see how I'm progressing after recent focus on trails. Smashed my 5k record by nearly two minutes (22:13) despite a largely sleepless 2 year old all week and a flooded course. Think I can actually go faster! Doing a brown orienteering course...

Argh, have accidentally ordered New Balance 860v11 instead of 880v11. Am I going to have problems? I didn't realise they weren't neutral. Have not yet had any gait analysis or anything.

big nuts another good point. Pretty much all my runs are solo except when I go down to Devon to see my in-laws (my wife's sister and her husband were a big part of what got me into trail running). Think I'll have to join the local club.

Artie Fufkin 50 miles a week with two young kids? I'll let you broach that one with my wife. 15-20 is probably the absolute limit. I guess that's the problem.
