Good luck, i think go for it. I'm guide running in a 10 miler that day. It really will be the blind leading the blind with the probable hangover.

Well done BM team. The only way to eradicate cheating is to deal with it swiftly, once proven of course.

Interestingly he ran the race last year in 4hrs and something so he knew the way!

Well done everyone, runners and supporters, epic achievements all round. The lack of breeze and air made it as difficult as the heat. I was pacing a friend so it wasn't as tough for me but even running at a pace lower than normal race pace I could feel it. Congrats again everyone.

Most 'running' experts will say carb loading is advisable the day before a marathon. I tend to increase my carbs the day before, grazing at them, rather than stuffing them in, in one go. Works for me but it is horses for courses, what works for one won't work for another. I went years ending up...

I ran it a few years ago, it is quite flat, its a mix of trail, tarmac and a small bit of shingle. Its an out and back course, a few little bottlenecks but you could go fast on all other parts.

Just heading off to Boston now for the what promises to be the race of my life. £850 in the bag already for AITC makes it very very worthwhile. Happy running to anyone heading out over the Easter Weekend. Team NSC for the Brighton Marathon next year is looking very very strong!!

Its excellent and it thoroughly works. Have done nearly 10 sessions with it. Very impressed. I started with an induction so I could get some guidance as to what exercises were the best. Then again after about 5 sessions for some new ones. Whilst it looks like a kids swing/climbing frame, I like it.

What I would say Curious Orange is I have PB'd at 5k 10k 1/2M & Marathon in the last 3 years (im 42) and I have been running for 15 years. Its all about training effectively & correctly. Thanks to Chimneys encouragement & Steve Foster I broke 4hrs for the marathon in 2012 after 16 attempts. This...

I am in Cranleigh doing the 21. I did Worthing 20 yesterday, a new PB 2.37. 15 miles all at 8 min mile then ramped it up for last 4. Its looking good for a new marathon PB in Brighton *crosses fingers*

Well done on the 16 miles ran, very good time again, esepcially in hilly conditions. Given the RW guides normally have 3 weeks full on 1 week rest approach it is good to take a resting week to recover. Enjoy your fartlek session. Happy Running

I would concur with Herr T's & Chimneys responses to this post. I ran 16 marathons, majority between 4hrs 5 & 4hrs 30 mins without a real plan. By following the RW training plan I ended up with 3hrs 51. I would suggest looking at your 14 mile time, provided you do the long runs as others have...

Interesting feedback that as the TomTom is getting a lot of exposure and if you believe the advertising, its makes the Garmin look like betamax. (for you young ones who might not remember replace betamax with AVB) 14 miles now, 1st 7 at 9mm pace then next 7 8mm pace. Then its Amex time!

My Gore-Tex winter jacket is 6 years old now and on its last legs however it has been awesome over the last few years. I cannot say enough how good its been. I was sceptical when buying it but so pleased I did.

One last point from me on the subject. I was lucky enough to have a thorough examination by an Asics specialist in November and it was reassuring to see that the 'free' work done by the good folk of a 'proper' running shop was correct and I have a rolling stride and need stability in the shoe...

As has been said later in the thread by timbha spending the right amount of monies is crucial. Not saying the £15 shoes are not right but you are best going into Run / Sweatshop / Up & Running / Jog Shop and paying to get a pair of running shoes. I suspect the Sports Direct shoes are not quite...
