Apologies. I was just being an arse. (In fairness to me, I had a theory they were all the same plant in different stages of array/disarray)

Thanks  We shall see what we shall see. I shall post pictures of the Big Bastard as it unfolds. It is a real cracker.

Having done some research (google images) it looks like a Bloodgood. Slightly thinner leaves. It is 20 plus years old. I have seen similar, half the size, on sale in garden centres for £500 plus. It was a present from my little mad bro (who is a gardener, like our grand dad on mum's...

I have a lovely acer. just coming into leaf (see below). And....today I found a seedling that has miraculously germinated in the middle of a pot sitting 'between plants' beneath it.. Happy days.

Thanks for the advice. Luckily I am a compulsive waterer. I even watered today (but I had to take a brolly because it was raining so hard). What do you recommend for a monthly feed? I'm a Baby Bio man for the house plants (and I have a 35 year old white lily that's still perky on BB).

We had a box hedge in the tiny front garden that had been there 30 years. Destroyed by that caterpillar bastard a year ago. I dug it and the topsoil out and found thick London clay. Topsoil now in back garden. We decided to tank it (with breathable material) fill it full of Scottish pebbles, and...

Ha! Same deal here. We do Faversham Open Gardens (well, did, till health and safety closed it, the council telling us all we need to be insured to let the public into our gardens). I sold pots of seedlings for my neighbour's charity. Our garden was quite a popular part of the day. I love echium...

Record numbers of asparagus (records kept over the last 5 years). They like water (hose) and sun and don't seem to care about the cold (no more than 14 degrees here till 2 days ago, and still struggling to hit 20, but blue skies after midday every day). The alliums are gorgeous. The plum tree...

The purple leaved thing in there is an Acer. Look after it. I have a big one (15 foot) in my back garden. The local garden centres are selling 5 foot one for £400-600 😮

Our Echiums are covered in bees. Mind you there are a couple of neighbours with hives, one of whom is a bona fide beekeeper. I have recommended they take a decent antihistamine.

Very many thanks for that. I really thought I'd left it too late to move the conker tree

    [Help] Gardeners Question Time.

Question for the experts. I have a wisteria grown from seed in a small pot on the patio. Is it possible to pot it up into a big b'stard (knee high) and expect it to flourish? Or must it go into the free earth? I realise I am likely to be long dead before the bugger flowers, but that's...
