I'd like to place on record my sincere thanks for the many years of service put in by @knocky1 - together we have achieved some fantastic results and he has left us in a better place than when we started. We wish him all the best for his further endeavours in the sport

Managed my first 10k this morning, up to the YHA on the SDW and back. Was a bit of an effort, but pleasing that I didn't have to stop and walk for any of it. Two weeks in Mexico from Friday won't do anything to get the distances back up, though. Looks like I might have to brave the dreadmill for...

Ah, I didn't realise there was still work going on there. Good news.

:bigwave: Is this a debut for the WL at PP? Shame there's not the option of getting back to the Marina/Duke's Mound route – the original and still the best!

Fantastic efforts in London – I watched a bit of it before Bobkin Jnr's football and it really is inspirational stuff. Even though there are so many other raced to do, I'm back to understanding just why people hold THE marathon in such high regard. Meanwhile, my running seems to have dropped...

Well done Brighton runners – some fantastic achievements. I also noticed on Strava/FB some great efforts by those formally of this parish. Sounds like everything came together today – including the weather!

I know everyone is different and it can depend on how you feel on the day, but the only time I managed a sub-4 was in my second-ever marathon (first Brighton and a decade after my first) when I went off like a ROCKET around PP and down the road. I was then clinging on travelling East along the...

It's easily done. If I didn't run, I'd pile it on because I love food. But don't feel ashamed or embarrassed, because you're getting out there and exercising, Which is more than a lot of people...

In contrast to @HH Brighton, I have two pairs of running shoes - one for the road and one for the trails. There was a nutter on Sunday running in flip-flops - I wouldn't advise it - but this time of year, that extra grip makes all the difference. However, head onto the SDW in the summer and you...

I remember walking back along Church Road on marathon day (I'd just done the 10k) one year as the leaders came through. I was stunned at their pace and how they can manage it. But then I know people who have run over the Seven Sisters at the Beachy Head marathon and I swear that's impossible...

Sorry, last one from me on this one. I love the Moyleman. It's my favourite race ever. Honestly... :lolol:

Yep, I've got a weird pain going up the back of my leg, in between by thigh and calf – I reckon it's where I was twisting trying (and failing) not to fall over! Went out for 2.5 miles this morning, which actually seemed to help. With a few more longer runs (and more hill walking) I reckon I...

Cheers! Never done the Stinger, but Jay said it was as muddy as Darkstar. Not sir about that, though.

My sixth Moyleman marathon today and my word, it was muddy, wet, windy and bloody hard work. Waiting for the official time to come through, but my watch was saying 5:12, which is actually quicker than I thought it might have been at one stage. I slipped over in the mud, too! I wasn't the only...

I've said this before, but I loved the power station (well, that's probably a bit strong – I didn't mind it), but that's probably because I'm from SBS so a lot of the support I got was around that way. It IS a bit of a drag though, when your 18/19 miles in, though, granted! Rest assured, the...

Good luck. The atmosphere is very special but, personally, I found it a bit much at times. I think that's because I've done too many trail marathons, though! However, I didn't feel that way the first time I ran it (my first marathon) - crossing that line was one of the best feelings ever.

I've run in a fair few pairs of Asics and they are pretty good – for me. I would hesitate to recommend ANY brand, let alone model, of running shoe because they are all different for different people. If in doubt, try them out (Shout out to The Jog Shop, which regularly gets my custom and has a...

I'm not a fan of all these mind games, Gaffer... A cancelled football match for Bobkin Jnr meant I upped my planned 16 miles to 18.6 in the end on Sunday, which has given me a bit more confidence I can cover the distance before crawling (as ever) up Mount Caburn a week on Sunday. @BiffyBoy100...
