Yes it was me sadly! Ended up taking out two thirds of the beds with box hedging and managing to salvage the final one.

We've got 3 or 4 planted around our borders and have survived the last 3 winters buy cutting them down to within 5 cms, of the ground and then covering in mulch to over winter.
I think I'm going to give it a go with your treatment recommendations. Mainly because I can't afford right now to rip it out and start again (appreciate the honesty, and advice though Jack!). So may as well give it a whirl. At least I now know what it is and if future outbreaks occur I can...
Good god, sounds like a massive ball ache! I have approx 20 linear metres around our front garden of the stuff! Will the box grow back after all the trimming!? Also, I'm assuming they can come back or are there any preventative measures?
