I know just the thing. A pheasant Berry and by chance you have 1 you can move in the picture earlier. If you soak it and move it and keep it watered till autumn it should be OK. It can be a big shrub but if you cut out all 2 year old growth each winter you can keep it under control. e
Not that I've ever seen , just the corms underground. I still grow the bog standard orange 1 (looks like those corms are) but trying to get rid of them is a nightmare. Good luck.
He doesn't need knotweed as it sounds like the red spiral bulbs are crocosmia. You are being introduced to the world of weeds that are virtually indestructable.
From the picture that doesn't look like wild garlic, which has broad leaves, but what I call white allium (I don't know its latin name). It's a complete pest and spreads vqry quickly. Strimming is a waste of time. The only way I can controll it and hopefully one day eradicate it is to dig up...
Until last year I absolutely agreed with this but planted summer and autumn rasberries and pruned autumn to ground. Got no fruit so checked what I ordered and these autumn fruiting ones fruit on year old wood. Not sure that helps in any way just passing on.
I agree with Jack. Crush a leaf and it will have a pungent smell (which is supposed to cure headaches. You have not been charged for this medical advice.)
I sowed the same seeds in an unheated greenhouse 6 weeks ago. You have a heated propagator and hopefully lids or plastic bags to cover. I have had no problem and seedlings are strong.
I tend to find that after a week the lawn has put down a lot of thin white roots. Do not lift as it will break them. You can probably cut back on WLB to every 2 or 3 days.
Planter on patio is good idea. Can build out of old wood and fill with compost. I buy the pots of herbs from Sainsbury and then pot up into bigger pots or a planter. Basil, parsley and thyme last a season for £1 each. Don't over water basil.
OK so you have put down nematodes for the leather jackets (hope you did it when soil was warm enough) and you still have a problem. I would set your mower for one of it's higher settings, and let your lawn recover a bit. Cutting lawns to a very low setting is very stressful for them and needs...
Grass seed needs to be in contact with the soil and kept moist. The night time temp should be enough for it to germinate now (certainly hope so as oversowed lawn yesterday) so when sowing bare patches I scratch up soil and lay seed then tread it down and as Jack say's water like buggery.
Sorry Jack I have to disagree with you. I used 4 in 1 once and it didn't kill the weeds, didn't kill the moss but made the lawn grow like crazy. It was basically nitrogen which is like us eating white sugar.
I've worked for a lawn fascist for 20 odd years and a good lawn is a lot of work. I got...
