[Football] The Non-League Football Thread- 2023/24 Edition

Same crowd the women got the other week after the best efforts on social media from the club.

Would he surprised if HH allowed that after being booted out the competition in the semi finals.

Cost a lot more money if you go up a level annd want to be competitive. Apparently Hassocks had no intention of getting promoted this year. And if you finish top or win the play-offs and refuse to go up then you can get hit with heavy sanctions by the Sussex FA. Makes a bit of a mockery of it...

Apparently the National FA were happy to let them off, but the County FA have been really difficult about it. It's about international clearance from a player that was playing in Ireland. There was a hearing on Sunday about it, but I'm not sure what the outcome was. Looks like they've been...

How long before we hear what happens to Haywards Heath Town? They are a funny club. It's my local team and I go there fairly often, but I have to say I've never really taken to them. Their group of 'ultras' behind the goal are quite annoying. They do make a decent amount of noise for a club at...

Imeka Ifejiagwa. I remember, I was at the game. He disappeared after a couple of games and the club never said why. Then someone I knew closed to the club let slip that it was discovered he supposedly had had ann arranged marriage for visa purposes, and got booted out the country.

I was told on Sunday morning that they had a problem with an ineligible player (although it was said it was a cup-tie issue) and then Sunday evening they cancelled the game. Sounds like it's a right mess, whatever has happened.

International clearance!? Is that a thing in non-league football?

Presumably the same player wasn't cup tied in the Peter Bentley cup? I can't see how they can't get kicked out of the RUR cup after fielding an ineligible player in it, but the rumoured 27 point deduction sounds incredibly harsh!

Yeah I agree. In the unlikely event Bloom sold out to an Arab State or something, I've always said I'd go and watch non-league football instead, and Lewes definitely seems to be the best option.

Blimey, really!? Shame, they've looked a decent side the last few months, and the player in question is quality.

Went along after seeing this post. First time I've been to the Dripping Pan in 25 years. What a fantastic place it is to watch football now.

Heard some whisperings yesterday morning about tomorrow night's rearranged cup semi-final between Haywards Heath and Steyning. Apparently one of Heath's players was cup tied, but played in a previous round for them. Then yesterday afternoon Heath put out a Tweet saying the game is postponed...

Yeah I think I might. Used to watch Lewes quite a lot when my Dad lived there about 25 years ago, don't think I've been back since.

Would be much better if it included every fixture and you could filter by date!
