Had a month off running recently as I lost the love but back into it now but just doing 10ks and it's all hills around here in Devon so that's me from now on and still get round in 50 mins on a good day at the grand age of 60 now

Your training kicks in automatically but just keep an eye on your pace in the first few miles as the adrenaline will be pumping
Wear an Albion shirt as well if you can as every man and his dog will cheer you on ( Me and my lad done that last year and it was a great move)
I look at my marathons...
Yes I know Killerton isn’t far away but I’ve been working away all week for the last year so it’s a bit of a no no but I’ve just got a 6 month contract in Exeter so will get myself down there on a footy free Saturday ( maybe this weekend even ?)
Bideford 10 miler today for me after yesterday’s 6 pints of Guinness and fat boy breakfast
Smashed it in 1.10 mins
Not bad for a 59 year old if I say so myself
Good advice from Dazzer
And like you I only done HM and the hardest part was slowing my pace down so not to blow out too soon
Also finish time wise it’s normally double your HM time plus 30 minutes
Last long run 3 weeks before big day and do about 22 Miles
Then just go down to 13 Miles and gradually decrease and just taper down to a little 4 miler a couple of days before Marathon
I ran my runs at about 9.30 ish but found when I done both London and Brighton Marathons I was running...
Did the 10K Breakfast trail around Knightshayes in Devon yesterday
About 50 runners and I only won it at the grand age of 59 !!
Just felt good all the way round a few decent hills and very sticky in places but thoroughly enjoyable

You can just walk it if you want to
I walked just two days then ran...
Me and the lad going into Lagoon Rd
I thought water stations were manic and energy drinks weren't clearly marked when you got to a station
I took my own water and never had any problems with getting energy gels
I suspect the further back in the field you were the water etc was getting short in...
Me and my lad got round in 3:51 both in our Albion tops
Loads of encouragement from the crowd and The Albion fans along the way
Shook CH's hand at the start and thanked him for what he has done for us, saw Muzza at about mile 17ish by the church and got a cheer from Norman Cook at 23 miles and...
Your never too old to do your first marathon!!
Done my first at London in 2012 in a time of 3:42 at the age of 54
Going again tomorrow and hope to scrape in at under 4 hours
My carb loading entails having a full English breakfast this morning and tomorrow morning and pizza tomorrow night
Small bowl of cereal and bit of toast on race morning
Energy drink and gels every three miles (30 mins)
Cheers and the same to you.
I was a bit quizzical about the tape but the pyhsio had no qualms about it at all and got her book out to show me where to apply it
