Just finished ‘I Am C-3PO’ by Anthony Daniels, mein gott what a whiney, messed-up, unlikeable, narcissistic, self-pitying piece of work he is. Reading that, I can understand why so many found him difficult to work with. Next stop ‘The Midnight Library’ by Brightonian Matt Haig.

All The Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr. Pretty darn peachy so far, great writing.

I think Booker felt an Australasian win was overdue! Great thread though, will pick up Day of the Jackal - about time I read it I think.

For me it lost its way half way through and was ultimately a bit 'meh.' Deserving of the Booker Prize? Not in my opinion, but one of those books you felt that you should get on with purely because it did win.

The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. Should be compulsory reading for all.

One of the long list of 'classic' novels that I did a chapter or so of and thought 'Too many books out there to be wasting my time ploughing through something I'm not enjoying for the sake of it' :thumbsup:

Half way thought the third book in the 'Talented Mr Ripley' series Ripley's Game and then it'll be Cormac McCarthy's All The Wild Horses.

Now that would be worth a read.

Just finished Chop Chop by Simon Wroe - brilliantly written, dark, off-the-wall humour. Funniest book I've read in a long time. Highly recommended. Now moving onto H is for Hawk, not too convinced by this one tbh.
