Just to conclude my contributions to this thread, I would just like to offer my thoughts on the 'discouraged user' feature that was applied to me. - It's possible that the mod that applied it didn't realise how severe it was. It makes the site (almost) unusable - A page load takes 5-10 minutes...

I tried that, and the mods somehow foiled my plan and merged that new account with this one. There's just no getting past that lot.
