I worked in that area for years, a hybrid business -IT person.
As you say, reengineering business processes is critical and difficult. When it's done correctly, the result is far more satisfying and beneficial all round than just slapping in a new IT system onto out of date processes.

I can't imagine it actually happening...many different things conspiring to give me a feeling of despondency in the 'structures' at the moment: Post Office, Blood scandal, Water companies ...
I think it will come to that, I hope it will come to that, if not...my faith in this country being a fair and just democracy will plummet even further ☹️
Isn't it great that as the main parties involved continue to argue, obfuscate and delay....postmasters get older, unwell and will at some point die. Shocking stuff ☹️.
Actually, that's a good question!!! At first I assumed it was the 600k mentioned in the final para...but that is for those whose wrongful conviction was overturned...so it doesn't say what Bates was offered. I expect it will surface in a news outlet today.
Seems derisory to me...barely covers 20 years loss of earnings, let alone unfair dismissal, accusations, compensation for stress over two decades. Shocking, but unsurprising sadly...
According to our village PO, there are still discrepancies most days now. They always call the helpline which nowadays is jolly friendly and helpful 👼 - they are always told not to worry about it and they never sign off on it.
I think the investigators ('Security Team ' I think they are called?) were probably enjoying their new found importance, possibly justified a bigger budget, higher salaries, bonuses and hiring extra staff...🤔... what's not to like? that might be why they never wanted to question it.
