Never forget. You and I paid for these businesses to survive when they were up s*** creek. At not insignificant risk did we underwrite their survival. They are now making billions of pounds profits, so in my mind, they can bloody well keep a community presence as far as I’m concerned.

Yes, online banking is useful. But bank branches are still busy and not just with the elderly. You go in and you generally have to queue. You can't do everything online
