I used to drink there 30 years ago and go back every now and again as I moved away many years ago.
It’s probably that I look back through rose tinted glasses, it was a big part of my teenage drinking days. Still, I think it’s a great pub.
Great memories of The Grey Walls Inn in Windermere. It’s near the top end so easy to get into the less busy Ambleside. But had a lovely time staying here. Long Autumn walks followed by dinner and ale by the fireside.
Very old, atmospheric boozer. Low beams and a touch of the Shire about it.
I came of age drinking in that pub for many years and always has a place in my heart.
Very much my kind of place .
