My opinion doesn’t need ‘revealing.’ I have stated it very clearly on this thread. I said early on in this thread this incident shouldn’t really be framed by culture wars but with the wording of the opening post and subsequent angry outbursts there’s no chance of that. I’m really not being drawn...
Irrelevant ? I am discussing something you clearly don’t want to hear. Walk away if you don’t want to hear it. Of course it matters if the pathway was shared usage or not. If not then it was dangerous for the bike to be there in the first place. That’s why disability campaigners have asked the...
It’s a process. Let’s see what happens on appeal. As I mentioned earlier in the thread a Labour councillor and disability campaigner has asked for clarification of the judge’s claim about shared usage as it does not seem based on fact. There are also grounds for disputing the length and...
Indeed. The conviction is not my concern. That’s for the courts, although it’s interesting how little regard there usually is on NSC for the police and legal system. My comments are on the horrendous attitudes of some towards people with difficulties. People in this situation need advocates and...
I also think there will be a successful appeal. It will involve the judge’s assertion that this was a shared pathway despite no evidence for this being presented at trial. It will also involve experts in learning disabilities.
Westander, sorry to quote you 3 times. It’s this new version of NSC...
You are seeing what you expect to see. Perhaps basis previous threads. Discussions on dual use pathways and corrections of misconceptions about the perpetrator are not victim blaming.
True. It also says there is no evidence it was/is a shared cycleway and that a Labour county councilor and disability campaigner had saught clarification. All a bit confusing for pedestrians and cyclists alike.
This doesn’t have to be a culture wars cyclists versus everyone else thread. Simple fact is we all have to share space and co-exist. It was clearly not the cyclist’s fault but what was his plan if he encountered a less able pedestrian than the woman found guilty ? Not everybody is able to...
