Can't argue with that. Once an elected PM falls we elect another one. Leave it to the "jam and jeruselem" mob or Tory MPs and look what you end up with.
On R4 morning they had a couple of the jam and jerusalem brigade on. Chairwomen (thats what they said they were) of local Tory parties doing a more than passable impression of Hyacinth Bucket. One was asked who she voted for last time. It went (something) like this:
Mrs Bucket: Liz Truss...
FFS Brady. Help her carry the lecturn outside and stand over her until she does the correct and decent thing and resigns. She is far too dim-witted to do itself.
A new verb "To Truss’ ,
‘To Ill- advisedly but arrogantly embark on something and then fail spectacularly within a short period of time’
A contemporary example of use of the new verb would be - ‘Vladimir Putin trussed his invasion of Ukraine ‘

The rules are there - published in the HoC library. I have linked them twice. I have read the rules. There is no immunity within the published rules for electing a Tory leader. If someone has decided to "invent" additional rules to suit the situation that is a different matter entirely.
If...
ConservativeHome has produced a list of Tories who abstained in last night's vote
https://conservativehome.com/2022/10/20/the-40-mps-who-did-not-vote-on-the-fracking-bill/
Truss isn't on it. So did she fail to vote for a confidence motion in her own government...or not?
Very odd state of...
If only. We aren't going to get a GE. Truss might get slung out but they will limp on f*cking things up until the end of this Parliament. They can't afford to give us the choice of our next PM because the tories know they will get wiped out and, of course, the selfish f*ckwits want to keep...
Brady has already moved the threshhold from 15% to 30% and now 33%. Would you bet against him changing it again once he gets to 33%? He seems to be doing what he can to keep the Trussterfuck in No 10.
As the hugely impressive (IMO) Charles Walker MP said last night, he was sick of talentless people putting a tick in the box to get a ministerial position not for the good of the country but for their own self-interest. So yes. There will be a queue of talentless box-ticking morons lining up...
Yeah - but Brady has extended the 15% to 30% then 50% so he clearly isn't that fussed about how many letters are in he still isn't going to announce that the threshhold haed been reached as he appears to be changing the threshhold on a whim. Here again are the published rules...
 Why would they worry about losing the Tory whip? Those Tory MPs who had the balls to vote with the courage of their convictions rather than being bullied by Truss (how can you allow yourself to be bullied by her?) would at least have some chance as an Independent in a GE. At least they...
We all know the reason! She does not know how to answer the questions she would be asked. We should be grateful. Every time she opens her gob the pound crashes again.
Run. Run. Run.
I have read the document in full now and can find no reference to any "immunity". More of a stitch-up to keep her there which suits me fine! I wouldn't want to give the Tories an opportunity to elect a leader who might just have a bit of a clue what they are doing. The longer she drags it...
I'm not convinced that Brady has the power to change the threshhold from 15% to 50%. The rules for Tory leadership elections are set out here:
https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn01366/
"A vote of no confidence in a sitting leader must be held if 15% of Conservative MPs...
