Wordle has lost me today. I get it - but I don't enjoy puzzles where you can't logic your way to the answer. I got a 5 today, very similar to yours I suspect, but there is no way I could change my technique or tactics to have got to an answer more quickly. If I've stopped progressing, I'll find...

An avoidable four today. Average 3.69 - streak 64

Multiple candidates turned this into a 4. Grrr. However, a couple of good scores recently (due to IRATE giving me a good start and some luck on the second guess). Played 73 - Best/Current streak 53 - Average 3.67 (with the two fails being scored as 7)

3 today - streak now 47 (and is my longest), average 3.71 I thought it was getting trickier, but a good week has pulled it back.

I start with IRATE. Mrs CBH starts with "IDEAL" - taking out the most common letters feels like a smart move. I also play in hard mode - so that I am not tempted to ignore already revealed letters to allow me to discount options. It's slightly tougher sometimes.

Power cut resolved and juice flowing again in our part of Dorsetshire. So back to the important stuff (posting on NSC about Wordle) 3 today. Played 58, Streak 38, average 3.72 (including two early fails through pure slap-dashery that are averaged in at 7)

Brilliant but bonkers theory. As l understand it, all the words have been predetermined in the code for the game. That's what enabled people to download it in its entirety before NYT got their hands on it. And it's why the words can't be manipulated by The NYT. And btw, most day one decorator...

A chewy 4 today after I nailed a very satisfying 3 yesterday (had time and paper & pencil on a train journey). No sign of NY Times for me, but Mrs CBH is seeing it, along with a burger menu to other games top left.

Very much this (with a three green start). Despite being as logical as I could.

Jammy three today (had three greens and two yellows in second round - open goal). Average 3.69 - and seems pretty stable unless I rush or get sloppy. Played 42, Current and Max streak 22.

My usual starter word did me some favours today - a lucky 2. Average now 3.73 - streak 20 - played 40
