    [Help] Child mental health

@atomised This may not help you, but the segment from 02:24 is worth a listen. https://www.globalplayer.com/catchup/lbc/uk/b8FPhBM/ The scandal of school bullying being swept under the carpet by heads, the human rights of bullies bizarrely to the fore. The parent who called in from Scotland...

    [Help] Child mental health

I’m envious of our neighbours, they’re switched on (there’s greater knowledge now) and take their kid each day (age 5 or 6?) to a woodland school near Uckfield. It costs. They admire the Finnish system where kids are given a rounded childhood. I was lucky in that school overall was okay for...

    [Help] Child mental health

I’m guessing I’m further down the parenting line than you, mine are 21 and 19? Be there for him when he wants it, keep lines of communication open with him (it sounds like you are), as boys especially hide their anguish but that doesn’t underplay issues for girls too. We moved schools, once...

I found the school, hopefully you have a caring person there taking control, do the work for you in getting the CAMHS ball rolling.

Needless to say good luck. At least he has two parents looking out for him 24-7. Your angst is normal, an expert said on R2 not so long ago that “we (parents) are only ever as happy as our unhappiest child”. On a small positive, at that young age there’s plenty of time and free resources to...

    [Help] Child mental health

Very sorry to hear that, for you all. Does his school and CAMHS know? From my recent experience, the moment “suicidal thoughts” are mentioned, the system worked remarkably fast and very well to potentially protect a young life.
