[Albion] Deluded Leeds (an EFL club) fans

Looking likely that Raphinha will be off very shortly. I can't quite get my head round the quoted price (£65m - £75m). Is he that good? There are some absolutely crazy deals around at the moment!

True, but White comes across as an exceptionally calm guy. Plus, he's quite versatile. I'd be surprised, though, given he's not been picked to date.

That may be the case, but you'd hope Southgate might look at Brighton and think "ah ha....best defensive record in 2021 (bar Chelsea) - maybe Ben White [and Lewis Dunk] are the main reasons for that?" And it's not like we sit back and park the bus!

I think the commentator yesterday remarked how West Ham and Wolves had done the same thing, and both come away with victories. I think the pitch also had a part to play (for us) - we seemed to master it much better...and Leeds' decision to put the sprinklers on at half time was bizarre. Also...

The problem appears to be the defence. We've scored 9, with an xG of 8.56, so we're converting the clear chances we create. But we've conceded 11 (with an xGA of 6.47). We've probably been extremely unlucky here, or maybe our opponents have made the better of the half-chances they've had...

Quite a few of us in Somerset... Incidentally, I quite like Leeds - vibrant, fairy modern city. And whenever I've been to Elland Road the locals (not those actually IN Elland Road) have seemed very friendly. I recall one trip where I got completely lost walking from the station to the ground. I...

Well, Pardew's 8 year contract with Newcastle has only just finished, so who knows...?

The really sad thing is the injuries caused in the pre and post-match violence, perpetrated by Leeds fans. UEFA almost abandoned the competition before the kick off, and then banned Leeds from European football for 4 years. One of the many reasons so many football fans dislike Leeds.

Thanks for posting that video again. The goal, the penalty save and Dunk's follow up tackle were etched on my memory - but I'd forgotten about Knocky's goal-line clearance in the last seconds!

Interesting! That's quite a chunk out of their likely transfer budget. Possibly part of the reason why Bielsa hasn't signed a new deal yet (haggling over how much support he's getting to build a team decent enough to stay up). I obviously have no idea what Bielsa's thinking, but currently his...

Fortunately Leeds' owner isn't quite as deluded as most of their fans appear to be - and actually aspires to follow our example: “As a model, I look at clubs like Brighton & Hove Albion and the success they’ve achieved gradually on a sustainable budget. I want to take a similar approach. When...

I clearly haven't seen as much of Leeds as you (and I had to look up "enganche"), but I tend to agree. The bits and pieces that I have seen, I've been very impressed. The challenge will be that the Premier League is a massive step up. Sheffield United made the transition with a "sum greater than...
