Almost 3 years since I had a drink, a friend came round last week and asked if I was still not drinking, also said twice “will I be just having a drink at Christmas?” He seemed really surprised that I said this would mean starting drinking again.

Stick with it and you will probably not want to go back to drinking. I have been off alcohol for 2 1/2 years and don’t want to start drinking again, I feel much better and I’m sure I’m happier.
I haven’t had an alcoholic drink for 16 months, I still go in pubs but now don’t have to worry about falling over on the way home. I also don’t have to write off a complete day because of a hangover.
My youngest son turned 18 last week, he came to the Seaford v Peacehaven match today and I bought him a pint, I had a can of Coke. :)
We have been to a pub in Newhaven many times before getting the train to the Amex, I’ve had a few pints and him soft drinks , just seemed very odd the other way...

I haven’t had an alcoholic drink now for just over 7 months, I planned to just have a break from drinking for a couple of months and haven’t started again.
I’m definitely not missing the hangovers and having really bad headaches after binge drinking.
I’m still not drinking, stopped at the end of January ( as mentioned on previous page of this thread ) and haven’t touched a drop since.
Probably helped not actually going out apart from work.
I’m doing dry February, I like to be different to people that do dry January. I only used to drink on Saturday and occasionally Friday evening, so not too difficult giving up.
