The handling and braking on it are sensational, I’ve got full K-Tech suspension and it goes round corners like it’s on rails.
My dad has just bought himself a 2021 RSV4 track bike with a cool 217bhp!! Look forward to giving that a spin.
Recently acquired myself an Aprilia RSV4 track bike, managed to get to Donington Park for a spin. It’s bonkers fast but wrestling a litre bike left me with serious arm pump by sessions 5 and 6, great fun though.
Alas, I’m not really Darren Freeman, however, about 20 years ago I did have an afro which could have passed as a 70’s style Keegan perm. Sadly I seem to have used all of my hair up with such a ridiculous barnet.
I’m not arsed to be honest, I don’t ride on the road, but I do know that myself and every single track day rider I’ve met all warm their machines before heading onto the circuit.
Did 3 days at Jerez in December, awesome circuit, will gladly go back there when finances permit it. Still need to wrangle my footage from old SD card.
My GSXR 750, eldest brother on Fireblade and our dad (old man Rivers) and his Aprilia RSV4 Factory. Let your imagination speculate as to who was...
You’ll probably find the majority of bikers like a noisy exhaust so that inconsiderate dickhead car drivers might hear us coming. As my dad says, “loud pipes save lives”.
Ah ok. I’ll confess, I have Diamond digital tyre warmers (set to 90’c) so they’re always super sticky when I head out, and I always do one slower lap before gunning it.
Cadwell Park makes me nervous, it just looks so narrow! Wouldn’t mind a go around Oulton at some point, it looks absolutely rapid. That was my first time at GP and I honestly thought it was excellent, it was as much fun as the GP circuits I’ve done abroad.
That’s super cool about your dad, did...
I’ve only ever done Indy, 5 times now and just booked it again last night
The only circuit I’ve ever managed to redline in top gear was Mugello on my 636 ninja, 150mph and getting smoked by my dad on his RSV4 Factory :(
My brother and myself have to go in his van as our bikes are track bikes.
Sounds like you’re suitably equipped for challenge of flying. The reason I asked about where you might take the lessons is because one of my dad’s touring buddies owns Deanland Airfield in Ripe and there’s a flying school that operates from there, would have been a bit of a coincidence.
His 1050 is an 08 plate I believe, he’s has it remapped and it goes like the clappers.
Out of interest, where are you planning on having flying lessons from?
My dad has got a Tiger 1050 which he takes touring, he’s been all through Europe on it, he goes with a group of wealthy chaps who all ride the latest BMWs, KTMs etc and he’s the only one to never break down.
Only managed 1 day at Brands Hatch so far this year, it was absolutely freezing and rained in the afternoon but I still got 5 good sessions in. Was due at Silverstone this Monday but had to forfeit for a family matter. Next stop Donington.
The sound from my brother’s Gixxer is probably a combination of poor audio and the fact that he sits on the limiter when nearing a corner rather than shifting up briefly, I’ve no idea why he doesn’t change gear as we’re all set up with quickshifters, quick action throttles, race shift and...
