After posting Baby Please Dont Go on the Best Song of the Day thread it reminded me of why I think this guy is one of the most versatile and best singer/songwriters in contemporary music - this is the title track and his own composition from an album of mostly classic country covers - 2006

and speaking of drinking, it reminded me of this next one - not so much ‘country’ but with a distinctly country sound, produced by Elvis Costello

Thanks, excellent choice from the Almost Blue album, Costello’s diversion into Country music, recorded in Nashville and consisting entirely of classic covers - it certainly ranks as one of my most favourite albums of the 80’s. However, not the best musically and certainly not a typical genre...
