A friend of mine is a USG fan and she was at the game. Apparently it’s yet to be determined if the result will stand or if USG will be awarded 3 points.

Worst case scenario, USG would go into the play-offs with a 1 point advantage!

The winners enter the Champions League at the group stage and the runners up have to go through the qualifying.

They really need to win both remaining games to give themselves a decent points advantage in the playoffs. Fortunately the last game is at home to the side that’s rooted to the bottom.

Thankfully, the points obtained during the regular season do get taken into account. They get halved (and rounded up) before the start of the playoff. As it stands RUSG would start the 6 game league with a 5 point advantage over their closest rivals.

I thought Anderlecht were there big local rivals!
