I don’t think Viera is a terrible appointment. What would be terrible. Pardew. Hughes. Warnock. Viera is a wildcard. Unquestionably a gamble. I guess if I was a Palace supporter I’d rather a gamble than one of the above.

Genuinely surprised, and not joking, that Palace haven’t appointed Big Sam yet. He seemed to be popular there last time. And the brand of football is fairly aligned with Hodgson’s.
