Because they've borrowed some bloke off Chelsea who had a good half of football and it's the first time in a decade they haven't looked like a one-man team.
You're winless after 3 matches and out of the League Cup.
I agree that Gallagher looks a tidy player - but he's not your player, he belongs to Chelsea. Of your other signings, none of them would get in our starting XI, while Edouard could be the next Palace Benteke. He's gone off the boil for...
Olise, Guehi, Andersen. Not bad, to be honest, but they still need a shedload of players as there's no squad depth.
There's a lot of pressure on Andersen there and you wonder how a relegation, an emotionally draining tournament and then having to settle at a new club will play out for him.
That must wind Zaha right up.
I think it's a bit of bitchy thing to say. Part of the reason Crystal Palace aren't a bigger club is because Townsend himself has under-achieved. 2 goals in 61 matches over the last 2 seasons is really piss poor by Andros, as is just 16 goals in his 5 years there.
It's a double whammy as a lot of them could do a job for the three coming up. Cahill, Clyne, McCarthy, Townsend, Sakho, Schlupp have Prem experience - Brentford surely could use some of that?
Palace now 4th favourites for the drop behind Norwich, Watford and Brentford.
Players whose contracts expire in 5 days time, according to Transfermarkt:
Keepers: Hennessey, Henderson
Defenders: Ward, Clyne, Van Aanholt, Cahill, Dann, Sakho, Woods
Midfielders:McCarthy, Schlupp, Townsend...
Yesterday was a good day re-signing Welbeck and moving Propper on, and today has been good too with news Spurs aren't pursuing Potter while Palace won't get Favre.
