    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

I agree it would be slightly annoying. But I’ll weigh that against three amazing nights (in Marseille, Athens and Amsterdam), some truly exceptional football this season, beating your lot 4-1, and seeing the gradual emergence of a new group of young players (Hinchelwood, Verbruggen, Barco...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

I very much doubt Palace could stop Glasner leaving - they might be able to enforce some sort of reasonable notice period in the UK, but if Glasner wants to return to Germany I’m not sure there’s much they could do to stop him. Sure, there would be compensation - but it would need to be a...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

I really expected Palace to be running rings around Forest....they've just had a THREE WEEK break, with relatively few international call ups....Almost as good as a pre-season. Perfect for the new guy to get his methods across. Oh well...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Serious question - and apologies for my lack of knowledge when it comes to South East London, but are there no options for a completely new stadium? £150m on one stand, which simultaneously restricts further development of adjacent stands, seems potentially a huge waste of money…especially...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

It’s quite funny that BHA built the Amex (cap. circa 32,000) for around £100m, whilst CPFC will spend £150m on adding just 7,500 to their capacity. The business case for that new stand must be similar to that of HS2.

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Eze is an excellent player. Olise is decent, too, but seems to drift in and out of games too much. I haven’t seen much of him, but that guy Ebiowei looks very promising. As for Guehi, I simply don’t understand the hype - he looks ok, but not exceptional. Not sure what Southgate sees in him...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Palace were particularly fortunate that both Salah and Nunez were hopeless (esp the latter, obviously). But they definitely looked very lively on the break. Zaha is an absolute enigma - took his goal very well, but missed a couple of other presentable chances. Roy would have been proud of that...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

One of the problems seems to have been buying some land off Sainsbury’s….would that be the same land they sold to Sainsbury’s about 30 (or more) years ago?

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

It'll be very interesting seeing how Palace progress this season - not just the change of playing style, but - as you highlight - trying to make the finances work without selling the soul of the club. We (BHA) are exceptionally lucky in that we have a wealthy owner who has been a life-long fan...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Good points - I think Palace have had a decent transfer window so far. They've been pretty clear that they have a strategy to bring through more young players, and play more progressive football. Changing style is, however, bl00dy difficult at this level. Obviously Palace tried it before, and...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Construction has been one of the few industries which has carried on pretty much regardless of Covid. But it's entirely possible that the impact of Covid on Palace's financial situation has caused the project to be delayed (I could imagine that the ring-fenced funds became slightly less...

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Sometime in May: "Hi there Patrick - you're our first choice, but we'd like to interview a few others first." Early June: "Hi there Patrick - a quick update - we've interviewed quite a few other candidates further down the list, but none are interested. We'll keep you posted." Late June: "Sorry...
