No, I don't think so. Democracy has been rejuvenated with high turnouts. The electorate have spoken and it's up to the politicians to make sense of the result. Division is only caused by juvenile unpleasantness on the internet.

That's true of both parties. Many on the Labour side are holding their noses whilst voting Labour led by Corbyn and McDonnell.

I'm not sure a straight comparison with Germany tells us a great deal about this issue. There are other economic forces at work applying to one or other of the two economies that makes isolating the tax effect very difficult. One good example is the distorted economic incentive of German export...

It's probably organized as part of the election campaign so, as you say, best disregarded as a source. However the Tories do have a lot of explaining to do on police numbers. As a party of 'law and order' they don't seem to be doing a great job in protecting us.

Very balanced view of both the good work and the constraints to what can can be achieved in the public sector. It matches my own experience and is a world away from the pictures painted by ideologues of both Left and Right.

I've lived and worked around the world including amongst Muslim populations and the only people I have ever heard pose this question about their community is a subset of White British people.

Government has a responsibility to protect us from all threats not just 'today's issue.' We are not under nuclear threat because deterrence is working. Terrorism is something different and cannot be counter acted by nuclear defence but this is not the only defence issue we face.

Perhaps a rather too literal take on language. We do need to be careful not to twist the words of any politician seeking to represent us whether they be JC, Michael Fallon or anyone else otherwise we descend into an American type electoral process.
