Watching Putin versus the West on BBC2 now - geez! - what a sPineless, pathetic, self-serving bunch of rubbish tHe EU was! Glad to be out of it - it even made Cameron look like he had a back bone! Sanctions? - yes, but not if they get in the way of us making money, or of they upset Putin - and...

About 40 years maybe* - that was the gap between the first and second referendums (likewise between the Scottish Independence referendums). That would seem about right for something as monumental as a referendum - referendums every two or three years would be even more divisive than some people...

Quite agree. Maybe a foulmouthed, sneering, sarcastic and abusive rant or two at the remainers would be worth a couple of days ban to get the thread back where it belongs, in the Bear Pit? Thank goodness for the 'ignore thread' (the one in our brains) - I shall continue to use it...

Yes, I was happy. Not bothered about EFTA either way, just happy to finally be out of the EU.

Remainer uses derogatory language - gives remainers a bad name. I wonder why this ended in the Bear Pit, eh? Some people seem so bitter they can't help themselves.

Yes. I voted against joining. Had to wait forty years for my next chance to vote on it; same should apply now. Fair's fair.

Before the referendum, no-one below a roughly similar age had any say in us being in it!

It panders perfectly to the Scots' 'ABE' mentality.

I'm sure Wee Krankie will be quick to point out that the policy was only ever to rid the country of their nuclear weapons! Any that remain can be blamed on the English.

FFS, those weren't the posts under discussion. Dredging up some posts from nearly five years ago and having a go at me for not remembering them (if I ever read them at the time) and somehow trying to claim that my recent discussions (now resolved) with another poster were about them, is just...
