Final longish run today and disaster has struck - picked up a groin strain. Hoping it's a minor one with two weeks to go but any tips to aid recovery would be appreciated...
I use the website payasugym.com for those days that I'm working from home so can't access my usual gym in London. Just find the nearest available/cheapest gym near you...
They wouldn't happen to be the Hurricane v3 trainers would they? Just got myself some today (half price now v4 is out and bright blue) and am intrigued to see if I notice any difference versus v2 (which I have completely ruined) when I next go out... most likely it's all just a gimmick but I do...
Brilliant time last and great to meet some of the NSC community. My thanks also to knocky1 for organising. With the popularity of this thread ever increasing it will be interesting to see how many teams we have next year!
I'm still running running but due to having left the office early I unfortunately won't be able to hang around much after the finish as need to wrap up some work this evening. See you all in a bit...
I'm just pleased that I still have some speed! Never thought about doing doing a park run before but may think about doing one now.
Re Wednesday I'm just happy to do my bit in whatever capacity. Different circumstances but at least it's given me a bit of confidence that I hopefully won't let...
With Wednesday looming and not having run a timed 5k before, I couldn't resist a try this evening just 2 get a sense of where I am at.
Went off a bit quick so need 2 think about that but otherwise a fair first time effort. Surprised how long 5k felt... bloody warm out there as well!
I'm happy to step in if still required. Not sure how quick I will be as normally run over longer distances but can do a pace of 7m 30s a mile when running 6/7 miles as a guide.
Lol - I'm cr*p with technolog so took me 10mins to work out how to download my Garmin to my phone, take a screenshot and then post (twice)
The hardest part I'm finding with the trail running is the downward stretches as opposed to the hills. Just don't have the balls yet 2 really let go when...
I too have recently discovered the joys of trail running having previously focused on the seafront and Hove Park. Below is a route I often take which works out as pretty much as exact half from my house. Bit tough in the heat yesterday afternoon so the time suffered but amazing views and...
3.52 for me which I'm happy enough with given first marathon and in light of conditions. Was aiming for 3.40 but quickly revised expectations given the heat.
Thanks Simgull and Dazzer for the feedback/advice. Being my first organised running event of any sort I'm naturally starting 2 feel a little nervous and the weather being as it's forecast was not something I had anticipated!
Some questions for the more experienced runners if I may...
1. How much effect would u anticipate the forecast warmer weather to have on performance?
2. Would u prepare or do anything differently in light of it?
3. How easy is to access the gels and water being handed out on the course?
TIA
