I've been a regular lurker on TWO every winter since around 2009 / 2010. It's pretty exhausting on the Model Output thread - so many cold rampers, "winter's over" types, wishful thinkers, 'mild trolls' - I can't imagine what it's like on NetWeather which seems far busier! Who to put your faith...
This is the chart for Brighton. It's going to get rather cold, there will be snow. We usually get cautiously excited when snow rows hit 15 or 16, but we have them at the max for a while with 33 out of 33. As close to being nailed on as it can be.

Over on TWO it's the usual picture of despair as the fantastic charts from earlier have been replaced by ECM output bringing in milder conditions.
From paroxysms of joy to teeth gnashing disappointment in an afternoon. It's quite something to observe!
Papa Lazarou - what on Earth is going on? Last night on TWO there were posts about snowmageddon, and a potential 20cm of snow for the SE of the UK... and this morning, winter is over! Can the charts really change that much in 6 hours or so? What's your take on it all (please :))

I'm on a train home from work in Central London. Left in a blizzard, but am a few miles south now and have got no snow and blue skies. I feel a bit of a fraud... but I'm sure I'll survive ��
Hard not to be a tad disappointed with what we've had so far (Beckenham, Kent at least) when all the models were largely in agreement and the synoptics looked so promising just a few days ago. Had this been mid-Jan we'd have had a better chance to get something memorable, but the sun is just...
