[Misc] The Award-winning official "More Snow Tomorrow?" Thread [2023-24 Season]

I've been a regular lurker on TWO every winter since around 2009 / 2010. It's pretty exhausting on the Model Output thread - so many cold rampers, "winter's over" types, wishful thinkers, 'mild trolls' - I can't imagine what it's like on NetWeather which seems far busier! Who to put your faith...

This is the chart for Brighton. It's going to get rather cold, there will be snow. We usually get cautiously excited when snow rows hit 15 or 16, but we have them at the max for a while with 33 out of 33. As close to being nailed on as it can be. The temps shown aren't for ground level, but...

Top flumpage here on the SE London / Kent border. Settling too.

Has it all gone tits up? Just had a quick look, and it all looks rather... meh! Very few dipping below zero.

Over on TWO it's the usual picture of despair as the fantastic charts from earlier have been replaced by ECM output bringing in milder conditions. From paroxysms of joy to teeth gnashing disappointment in an afternoon. It's quite something to observe!

Papa Lazarou - what on Earth is going on? Last night on TWO there were posts about snowmageddon, and a potential 20cm of snow for the SE of the UK... and this morning, winter is over! Can the charts really change that much in 6 hours or so? What's your take on it all (please :)) I read the TWO...

Bit disappointing for those of us in the South East.

I'm on a train home from work in Central London. Left in a blizzard, but am a few miles south now and have got no snow and blue skies. I feel a bit of a fraud... but I'm sure I'll survive

Hard not to be a tad disappointed with what we've had so far (Beckenham, Kent at least) when all the models were largely in agreement and the synoptics looked so promising just a few days ago. Had this been mid-Jan we'd have had a better chance to get something memorable, but the sun is just...

Best I've ever seen! Met office UK Outlook for Tuesday 27 Feb 2018 to Thursday 8 Mar 2018: It will continue very cold through next week, with sunny spells. However, snow showers are likely in many places, heaviest and most frequent in eastern and some central areas. Some spells of...

It's rained really heavily all night, but has recently turned to snow - flumping down - and amazingly it's actually settling.

Any updates please? Rumours that the snow may be tracking further south than originally anticipated; is this likely?

It's snowing in Beckenham. Big flakes too, but fairly light.
