We've just had one of the warmest winters ever. Barely any snow in Toronto. It even got up to 20C a couple of weeks ago.
Now it's spring, so we had 15cm of snow yesterday
I'm just glad I don't live further west. Cities like Calgary and Winnipeg are currently sitting at around -30C with a wind chill below -40C. They don't have the humidity we have in Toronto (which does make it feel colder) but those temperatures are beyond unpleasant.
We've had some snow overnight and it's currently -6C (but -14C with the wind chill). Just about to put on my Saucony Peregrine Ice and venture out for a run. It's going to be one of those runny nose and eyes watering types of runs.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
You might be alright the first week in January. The really cold stuff usually hits at the end of January into February. Don't quote me on that though!
I take it you didn't make it to Toronto?
We had a decent dump of snow on Friday. We've already had 3 snow storms which is quite unusual so early in the season. I'm hoping it's not the pattern for the whole winter because I've got a marathon to train for!
Some MASSIVE news here. Apparently it's going to be cold, and snow this winter. Who'd have predicted it in Canada, eh?

:lolol:
You only really feel it when the wind is blowing. If you're facing a windchill of -32C it's a kind of burning sensation on your face. Very unpleasant, and if you're in it too long your eyelashes start to freeze together.
I still go out running though!
It's been a cold week round these parts too. Currently -18C and not expected to get much above that today. We had almost 30cm on snow on Monday, which is more than usual in Toronto. It was quite a laugh fighting my way through the giant snow piles on Tuesday morning to get to the subway station...
Oh it still causes a big fuss in Toronto when it starts snowing. There's always traffic chaos and roads getting blocked. The difference is, it gets cleared very quickly.
All sorts of weather weirdness here. We had the COLDEST ever 5th January last week, when it got down to -23C. Then yesterday was the WARMEST ever 11th January with it getting as high as 13C.
Today has a high of 7C and raining this morning, with the forecast low of -14C and snowing this...
It's not snowing and all the roads and pavements are absolutely caked in salt, so there's no issue in that respect. It takes quite a big snowstorm to close anything down. There's usually a little bit of travel chaos when it starts snowing heavily, but everything gets cleared pretty quickly.
I don't mind cold temperatures but today is a bit too much. Apparently it's the coldest Jan 5th ever recorded in Toronto. It's currently -20C with the windchill making it feel more like -30C, with even lower temperatures forecast tonight. I thought my face was going to freeze walking to the...
Just started FLUMPING down here.
A good 25cm expected today and tomorrow :clap2:
It's about time, after the woefully disappointing warmest February ever recorded in Toronto.
I've been enjoying a nice bit of FLUMPING here in Toronto over the weekend. It's been a rare event this winter.
It seems like there's been a lot of snow out west, and now a lot out east too.
