I am Pilgrim. Disappointing so far.

The Count might be my second favourite book! I think more books need to be written in the old periodical style. It seems to ensure there's no lull in the story telling.

100 years of Solitude. I'm not feeling it. It's widely considered one of the masterpieces of the 20th century so the deficiency is mine. I just don't get it.

And now onto The Mirror and The Light, the final book in the trilogy. If it's anywhere close to as enjoyable as the first two it'll be a cracker.

Bring Up The Bodies by Hillary Mantel. It's the second in the trilogy about Thomas Cromwell and if anything is even better than the first (Wolf Hall). Really good historical fiction.

I'll second this. Takes a bit to get going then becomes a beast of rare beauty before fading a little at the end. Definitely recommended.
