I have another Paulos book which I haven't read yet - A Mathematician Reads the Newspaper. If you thought the Silver book was daunting don't bother with the Taleb ones!

A few other titles that I have read in a similar vein that you may enjoy Tarpon (in order of goodness): The Signal and the Noise - Silver Innumeracy - Paulos Fooled By Randomness and The Black Swan - Taleb The Drunkards Walk - Mlodinow

I've nearly finished it, would recommend if it's the kind of book you enjoy. I read it to improve my betting - next up is Born To Punt.
