    [Drinking] Tip your barstaff!

assume you're being silly? if not, that doesn't match reality. firstly 'Spoons aren't the one asking for tips, it's the fancier pubs & bars. secondly minimum wage has been going up at the time we see increasing tip culture. its a disguised price increase, encouraged by card use so you're...

    [Drinking] Tip your barstaff!

i've heard US side coffee shops and takeaways expecting tips for handing you cup or bag. it might be ushering in a pushback, especially where there is significant minimum wage, making the purpose of tipping invalid.

    [Drinking] Tip your barstaff!

seems opportunistic, sneak in a tip payment on the card reader. and £14.80 for two pints of lager ffs.

[Politics] Sir Keir Starmer’s route to Number 10

you mean the French? they can only do so much really, constrained by their laws. they've torn down the camps repeatedly, hasn't stopped the flow. they could say the problem is at the Italian border, nowt can do about that. and everyone ignores the same issue faced in the Med. if you mean...

[Politics] Sir Keir Starmer’s route to Number 10

sounds a lot like the current policy towards the boat crossing, with more money and counter-terrorism thrown in. current gov keep announcing money and collaboration with French, doesn't address the underlying problems. why will this version make a difference?

[Albion] Biss Back in the Blue?

it would be great but not realistic they'd let him go, or if they do, for the sort of price we pay.

we can use these observations as indicator of financial health of an area. may be there's not so much crisis round there.

[Politics] Natalie Elphic defects to labour

i can see what he's going for until /8 er, no. Starmer isn't going to pick up anti-immigration Reform voters because of Elphicke. they'll want to see a hardline on immigration that Starmer wouldn't be near. this is trying desperately to make sence of something that doesn't make sence. i...

[Politics] Natalie Elphic defects to labour

might be her motivation, it doesn't explain Stamer's. seems it's gone down badly in his shadow cabinet and across the party, not just the left fringes. a peerage would make that worse, though post election might not matter much, would not look great.

    [News] Well done southern water

i'm sure the MP mentioned it, £190bn has been invested. they may not have mentioned a lot of the dividends are to bond holders, due to the somewhat dodgy corporate set up, numbers report on the regulated operating company and not the parent companies.

[Albion] Mason Greenwood, would you want him at the Albion?

quite a peculiar thread. some will state they never want to see a particular player here because of their previous club, a tackle 8 years ago, or their hair. for some reason a few think objecting due to real evidence of being a nasty **** isn't fair, because it didn't go to court. weird.

[Politics] Natalie Elphic defects to labour

hearing Starmer, that seems to be the calculation, look how centerist Labour is. at what cost of votes on the left though?

[Politics] Natalie Elphic defects to labour

apart from the coup of an MP crossing, not sure this is going to be that helpful for Labour, seeing comments this show's Starmer is too Tory.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

the comments from Putin sound like nothing more than a leader placing blame on the other side. the West wont talk, it's all their fault. the only chink in the display is the acknowledgment of not developing, there's obviously difficulties and better to say they are others fault. that said, if...

    [Albion] The election up all-nighter

not so much, the numbers say the economy isn't doing nearly as badly as the commentary. not because of anything much Conservatives are doing mind, just the general global macro is turning upward. Germany just avoided recession, US looks steady, inflation fallen, interest rates likely to start...
