I'm sure I have seen instances where the judge has stated that the driving ban will start after release from prison. It does seem odd that in this case the ban exactly matches the prison term.

The Highway Code used to stipulate that it was a legal requirement for a bicycl to be fitted with an audible warning device. Those who argued that a warning shout qualified were told that, since a voice was not fitted, it did not qualify. Don't know if it is still in the Highway Code
Howard Webb said that he wants players to show respect for referees. Perhaps if referees showed respect for the laws of the game, there would be less controversy
