The Rangers have been my "2nd team" ever since I won a NYR jersey on Ch5's competition in Gretzky's final season. Great series win - and been a strong season all round. Could it be their year?
Another US colleague came along with us to watch a Sussex game and was amazed at the fielding. He coached his church young kids baseball team and he messaged me a few weeks later to say that he had the young kids using the long barrier for hits along the ground and it had saved them several runs...
While not strictly "village", it is amateur - but its been a busy week of cricket for my lad this week.
Tuesday - up in Cranleigh for a schools cup game
Today - college game vs the Martlets
Tomorrow - up in Beckenham with Sussex 2nds
Saturday - playing for Mayfield
Sunday - away in Folkestone...
Was talking to my Detroit mate yesterday about Goffs new deal - and we got to comparing him & Watson in Cleveland. I reckon its a huge year for DW. Get injured again, or play badly, and Browns fans will become even more vocal about that huge guaranteed contract than they have been already. 3rd...
"The new laws would require cyclists to make sure their bikes are "equipped and maintained" in a legal way, and would apply to pedal cycles, e-bikes, e-scooters and e-unicycles"
Never heard of those before...sound lethal!!
After the series win against LA, I thought we could go on a run of wins / sweep this series v Colorado. How wrong was I? Even Dylan Cease (whos been brilliant since signing) couldn't get past the Rox last night.
Huge game for the Blues vs the Swans. Really need to get back on track with a run of wins after a few below par performances.

Still got quite a few of those articles and the commemorative book etc. Also got an empty bottle of bubbly from the changing rooms when we won Div 2, signed by a load of the players. Unfortunately they've all faded away to almost nothing now though (the autographs, not the players or memories!) 😁
Pretty sure it depends which competition that particular game was for. For the early season games last year, Mayfield wore their Navy & Royal strip for the 50 over / T20 games - then wore whites later in the year for longer league games. Someone may know better than me though!
Basically down to the standard in kids cricket. He spent 2 happy seasons at RCC when he first started, but once he was in the Sussex Sabres set up at 11 they couldn't offer a standard good enough for him tbh. My mate coaches at RCC and actively encouraged him to move to Ditchling for Div 1 kids...
🤷♂️ I dont have a clue, but seems a bit harsh on MCC to suggest they're "hoovering up" the Sussex youngsters? One of my lads mates from college plays up there, which is why he joined.
It was his first season there last summer, and was the youngest player in the first XI...& no other Sussex...
Anyone connected to local cricket may have heard that Rottingdean "behind the scenes" stalwart Sarah Hunt died a couple of weeks ago after a short battle with brain cancer. Her funeral is today, with a wake at the Saltdean Lido this afternoon. If anyone on here is with RCCC, I send my...
My lad played at LPCC for about 3 years. Lovely club, and I sometimes wish he was still there tbh. Im not into cricket myself, but used to love the place - and the pizza nights around the fire-pit with everyone while the kids were all off playing. The STG is a great place to spend a Saturday...
Had to chuckle when Rylan & Scott Mills put out a "warning" about one of the other acts wearing revealing costumes / bodysuits a few songs after the UK performed, but funnily enough said nothing beforehand about our staging 😏
Always enjoyed Eurovision, but really not been impressed with this...
