Anyway, away from the 'which team is bigger' sh1t debate.........................
I was told over 6 months ago by a journalist* very much in the know in a face-to-face conversation that KM was at the top of the club's wish list for the next manager in after de Zerbi.
However, with Ipswich's...
I was ALSO at that game, in the home end, and jumped up when Gary Hart scored!! And quickly exited, rather than sat down, as our cover was well and truly blown ;)
Lamptey's coming-of-age game was during lockdown away at Newcastle when he was the BEST player on the pitch by a mile, in front of the TV cameras
Same again please Lamptey :rave:
If people can't make the game, no biggie as far as I'm concerned.
I went, got bored first half and came out at the end entertained, having enjoyed some good football and a dominant performance from us.
No bad thing if all the queues for things were considerable smaller today.
Wasn't it just! (The Cattle Market afterwards)
My minibus group of a dozen were one of the first to enter the cattle market to be greeted by some young Hereford scamps (spotters) closely followed by a load of Hereford intent on 'bother' :( We were all thinking "Fuqk" until a mob of Usian-Bolt...
Is he though? (an excellent player)
He's workman like, but when has he ever done anything outstanding? He's just a meh player, was before the injury in my opinion.
Not for me (as in given up on the season)
Still games to go, especially some meaty ones at home.
How could you not, for example, look forward to the spicy atmosphere that will be Chelsea at home?! ;) :rave:
We may not gain too many more points, but it's still live football to go to and...
The defeat at home to Bristol City was particularly galling as my best friend, who worked for SkyBet at the time (sponsors of the league) came down for the game and was going to present the trophy to the team had we won :(
I had a 'money-couldn't buy' experience however, as I got into the...
To be honest, he's been pants ever since coming back from injury. Often exposed, and trailing in the wake of an attacker getting ahead of him. Yes I know, before you say, that we're missing Mitoma protection, but he's not been right since he came back from long-term injury
No worries if you agree or not, but from my eyes, watching him live, his first touch (on many occasions) was heavy/loose and I wouldn't care if the club sold him this summer for profit and he doesn't return
Not fussed either way to be honest
Yes, he scored a couple of crackers (home to Wolves and away to Arse, both lovely, lovely chips) BUT..............so many times his first touch was RUBBISH (and yes, I am talking about the chance at Wembley that he cocked up with a dreadful first touch)
It's mad really to see how much he's progressed. Remember watching him at a pre-season game (Getafe?) and he was so pants and taken off quick smart, and now look at him ;)
Always liked him, cheered him on when he set up di Maria for Argentina's goal in the WC final and was so proud that he...
Not sure if it was last minute, but remember a crushing defeat away at Chesterfield around 2000/01 season when we were both going for the title. Oatway had been sent off sometime in the match and we deserved a point and a late goal did for us.
But 'honourable' mention to the Benteke goal at...
I'm sure someone on here put up a very damning Twitter stat (for Steele at least) last month that highlighted the points won and goals conceded Steele vs Bart.
Got to be Bart for me, Steele never seems to save anything (yes, I know he does, but always seems to concede)
I sold him a Barbour jacket in Harrods a month before the Grand National in 1997, a surreal moment talking Albion things with him. Not miserable that day, just oozed charisma. But that was 'a while ago' admittedly! ;)
