I mean, he was given some brilliant lines in those films. I kind of think if it as being a striker, with Beckham on one side, Ginola on the other and Iniesta in behind you. You're gonna look pretty good

He was fantastic in LOTR. 'No parent should have to bury their child' beautifully delivered and I am grateful even though JRR didn't write it.
What can men do against such reckless hate.

That's because the film sank without a trace.
Black stuff was fantastic and necessary social drama for the time. And Hill's portrayal of Yosser is still memorable even after so many years . RIP
His portrayal of Thomas Howard, Lord Norfolk, in the tv adaptation of Wolf Hall was a stunning piece of acting.

Such a great actor who could adapt to different roles. Nobody could ever accuse him of being typecast. One of his funniest parts was in the Alan Bleasdale dark comedy from the mid 1980s 'No Surrender', where he plays the part of a half-witted bouncer in a seedy Liverpool nightclub. Such an underrated funny film from the time with a tangled plot, also starring Michael Angelis, Joanne Whalley plus a cameo from Elvis Costello. R.I.P.
