Derbyshire 19/0 at lunch.

Sussex made 479 with Pujara getting 113 but good contributions from the tail to build the lead.
Yes, those nice 30s that make the difference. Batting looks well rounded this year.

Derbyshire 3 wickets down, Madsen gone now.

Literally the moment I sit down in the upper tier in the Football Stand at Headingley Brook pops a ball to gulley. I had been watching elsewhere in the ground for a while, so I'm reasonably confident it wasn't entirely my fault.

Mason Crane finished with 5 wickets.

The beer's over a pound cheaper here than at Derby. Admittedly it's Tetleys, but they didn't have any ale at all down there.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
88 for 8 - Seales on a hattrick again

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
109 for nine. One player not batting.

Sussex win by Innings and 124.

Serious question, is Pujara our best player in the last two decades? Given Goodwin and Mushy were around 20 years ago now

WHAT a player.

Second question - what on earth made him want to stay after last season?

Good question.
Runs per match he‘s probably our best ever.
Over a long period there’s Ed Joyce, Steve Magoffin and Ollie Robinson

second question - there’s a lot to like about playing for Sussex. It’s a Lovely place to live and (for Pujara) easy runs.

Sussex have won twice as many games as the rest of Division 2 have in total.
Only 2 wins short of the combined total for the last two seasons.

Easy to forget Sussex were only a win short of promotion last season. They are clearly stronger this year.
