There’s a line in one of Dara O’Briain’s stand up shows along the lines of “any idiot can make money, the problem comes next year when you’ve sold the house and have nowhere to live”. This feels appropriate but for a midfield.

Whilst I agree 100%, we must also factor in the fact that we have a very rich benefactor who has bailed out the club / stadium/ training facility and playing side for years only now getting some money back.I’m guessing that everyone being sarky about the £100m+ profit wasn’t around in the 90s, and has no recollection of us scraping along on zero money at Withdean.
I want this club to exist (and be thriving) in 10 years’ time (and beyond, obvs). I don’t want the strategy that has been so successful for the past decade to suddenly be ditched. De Zerbi is still learning - and he may have to carry on that learning elsewhere - but let’s not criticise the club for being prudent. Especially given our past
a lot of other clubs in the prem rely on overseas bankers and hedge funds or Americans who are clueless about what the game means to the average punter like you and me

Surely that’s enough for working class fans paying hundreds of pounds a month to follow us all over the country?

I genuinely think clubs should’ve awarded extra points for decent FFP.
We've spent the entire season willy waving at our Croydon rivals about how well run and successful we are. Yet, even in their shambles of a season, they could quite reasonably finish above us.

A lot of the frustration is down to getting to tonked every other game. Can name so many now: Villa, Luton, Roma, Fulham, City, Bournemouth, any others?
